This suspended sculpture has a considerable prescence; it is both austere and slightly garish. The relative position of the four plates imply spaces within and around. The eye is drawn to the bright arcs at the edge of the plates, then to the reflections in the plates themselves. The changing light of the day has great impact. Low light brings out the red and green edges; fuller light brings out the wing-like blue plates. The four plates are not in contact and are each held by several robust transparent nylon lines. The lines come from a one metre square laminated wood plate, fixed close to the ceiling and painted to match the ceiling. The angle of the wood plate and the line lengths can be adjusted to match the environment. |
